History:

BalMedia LTD is a result of a consultancy assignment of the LTD WEPS in Schiedam Since 1988 this LTD is busy in the field of automatisation of graphic production processes. This field of automatisation is busy in optimizing in steps. Our organization has been trendsetters from the early beginning.

The result (see page result of investigation) show an enormous cut down in cost.

The Concept:

Optimalisation of the lay out  and prepress phase by way of high quality lithographic solutions. The final product is a highly qualified halfproduct , the PTF file. These files are sent via ADSL/HDSL/SDSL or analogue internet connection very rapidly to there destination. These files are processed by printers in countries that very interesting price wise. The finished product is transported back to every required place in The Netherlands by transport companies run with Dutch owners.

We do realize that this concept is not entirely new, but up till now no other organization has realized this idea with companies in the Baltic States (this is also the explanation of the name of the firm; meaning working with the Baltics).

 

Baltic States:

These countries a very European minded, the past 15 years they have built an economy that can measure with the other European states. They have become a member of the EEC. Our former prime minister, Wim Kok, said so in October 2001 while visiting these countries. The graphic/internet quality level can be compared with the high quality level of the Scandinavia countries but the cost of wages are of East European level. This makes it an ideal production partner.

Distribution:

Part of the investigation of the consultancy assignment was an investigation of the logistic path. We found out that an enormous weekly transport is taking place from The Netherlands to the Baltics. Most of all containers/trailers and trucks are coming back empty. We can make use of this distribution trail and in this way we can realize a delivery time within 48 hours.
